personal.xls

Hi in Excel 2002. Where is the personal.xls file normally kept. How can you point it to another personal.xls file?

The start directory used by Excel in WIn2K is

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

The following directory is also used

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart

I don't know how to change it though... any ideas?

i blieve tools, options, General tab puts in another path. Not sure if it adds this path or not, haven't haventck, but I do know that gernal consensus is atht XL will open ALL files in the xlstart directory, so just put your other file in there too.

I put the personal.xls file in xlstart but nothing happened. Looks like I have go to where you suggested tranpkp and use the "at startup, open all files in:" option... I'll try and let you know how it goes...

Sounds like you'd know, but just in case, you know XL would open in HIDDEN mode, correct?
