Hello,

Personal Web Server was working yesterday and I could run ASP pages on it ok, but then I installed Microsoft Visual UltraDev software and since then ASP pages have not been working at all. I get the error:

HTTP 500 - Internal server error

I have rebooted the machine loads of times and switched it off at the mains, but it still does the same thing. It says on the task bar Personal Web Server is running, and I have freed up a lot of memory as well.

The amount of free memory I have is 67% free System Resources

The amount of free disk space I have is 179MB.

The only changes I made to the computer I think was installing Dreamweaver UltraDev.

I was advised to reinstall PWS, but I haven't got a copy of Windows 98 CD available, so is there a way to uninstall PWS without needing the CD?

Thanks for your help

Hannah

You just go :
start -> programs -> windows nt 4.0 option pack -> windows nt 4.0 option pack setup and run it.
You'll see the option to remove it from computer.

Are you able to see your home page thru PWS properties (click on Web site)? If you are, then your PWS is working. You have to map your drive for the file that you want to access. Click on PWS properties, advanced icon and then browse to the directory where you have your ASP files that you want to view in the browser and then setup Virtual Directories for them.

Give it a try and let me know how that works. [sig]<p>Hella<br><a href=mailto:webmaster@vision21enterprises.com>webmaster@vision21enterprises.com</a><br><a href= Enterprises</a><br> [/sig]

Try installing MDAC 2.5 (mdac_typ.exe), which is either already available on your machine (do a Find...), or is free to download at
That usually sorts out any PWS problems I receive... [sig]<p>ahdkaw<br><a href=mailto:ahdkaw@ots.zzn.com>ahdkaw@ots.zzn.com</a><br><a href= anythign can go wrong, it will'[/sig]
