I have a user with a 5220 dual mode phone and the lamp for personal key 13 is always lit. The key is programmed as a standard speed dial, not a BLF/DSS. The phone is connected to an SX-200 ICP running 4.0.3.12 via a Teleworker server.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

If you press the Blue Superkey then press Key 13 what is shown on display?

When you reboot the set, does the light remain lit?

Pushing the superkey and then button 13 doesn't change the display at all. Pushing the superkey changes the display to say "Call Forwarding: Yes No" (as you'd expect) but pressing key 13 after that doesn't change the display any further.

The light does survive a reboot of the phone.

Using the feature codes, cancel all forwarding on the set.

Possible bad key.
If you press the key does it envoke the speed dial number programmed?

Swap the set with another one on the system using the set replacement code and see if the fault follows the hardware.

Do not change the phone, I think key 13 is a special feature key for something, will find it for you tomorrow.
You can not program over it and you can not see what it is.
Something like Mute for external speaker module? Tomorrow!

I was hoping to get out there tonight to try these suggestions, but that office is located inside of another building that closes at 6 PM and I didn't get up there.

It might be for the better though, since JohnKeri might be on to something; those symptoms are exactly what the user described...it won't let the user program over it, and the set won't show you what it is.

One of the 2 phones in that office has a LIM in it too; don't know if that's related or not.

when the phone is booted the first time after a LIM module is installed, it asks you to assign the analog line to a key. assume that it was set to your key 13. is lit because it does not see enough voltage on the analog line and assumes it is off hook.
you will have to remove LIM module and let it boot to recover that key

To follow-up, it was indeed the LIM causing that key to light. They have unplugged the analog line from the LIM and like RossBC said, it assumed the line was offhook. Reconnecting the line did clear the light.

Interestingly, after the line was reconnected, pushing button 13 to select the analog line changed the display to show it was making an analog call, but no dialtone was presented and no calls could be made on the analog line, which does work when plugged into a plain jane telephone set. That's a problem for a new thread though.

Braybk, When the LIM is first installed, you are given a choice of whenther the line will be used solely for 911 dialing or if local access is also allowed.

I would assume with its current functioning that only the 911 option is enabled.

If you want to reset and reprogram then you must remove the LIM and reset the phone (with LIM removed). Once the phone has fully booted without the LIM you can then re-install and reboot. The LIM will automatically invoke a 1 time only config to setup the phone including the Key for the analog line and the 911 vs local calling option.
