I'm working on our in house system (MCD 4 SP1) and I'm having trouble with personal contact details. The sales team have setup their mobile numbers within voicemail, but when you press 2 in their voicemail, you get the on hold music for about 5-10 seconds and then the message "that extension is invalid" This is from another extension on the mitel.
I'm guessing the voicemail ports might be having problem dialling out, possible COS issue, but I'm not sure which ones to change. I've tried reprogrmming the cell number as a speed call 7xxx (instead of invalid extension, you get passed back to the auto attendant) I've tried the whole number with and without a leading 9 and I still get the invalid extension message....

2 things to test.

Give a regular phone the same COS and COR as the VM ports and simulate the call manually. If the call transfer fails, correct any issues with COS and COR until successful.

Once successful above, the VM may still fail. Make sure the COS has Non-Verified Account Code enabled and that the Account Code length is the same as the VM DN digit length.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

Make sure that the users are putting a 9 in front of their number. Without the 9 it won't try to hit a trunk which means it would assume it was an ext.

This is what fixed it, the Account Code Length was set to 12.

The answer that RobEvansonCIT provided will be the right one. Just be sure that the outbound number includes the 9 also.

UncleRalph, thanks for the response. But this is my thread anyway, I was quoting kwbMitel. It was his solution that fixed the problem.
