Persistent Client Failure

Good Morning,

I am experiencing persistent client failure with Legato 6.01 running on Win NT 4.0 SP6.a. The clients are all running on the same platform. DNS entries are correct, and are listed in the hosts files. The backup functions properly for the first X (an inconsistent number between 1 and 3) and then fails (authentication error) until the client is re-initialized.

Additionally, when the backup runs properly, save sets are not entered into the index, although they can be observed on the tape volumes.

Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

What is the exact authentication error you are recieving? Are you getting connection refused? From the clients that fail, can you start both the networker admin and user programs from them and succesfully connect to the backup server? You might also want to try assigning priorities to each client so they don't kick off at the same time.
