I would like to set a password or permission to access only one of my web pages pages, not the whole web page itself. Specifically what it is, is I have a family photo page that people can access from my home page and I want only family to be able to view the pictures. I would appreciate any help. I'm using FP 2000. Thanks.

You have to be on the live web site to set the permissions. If you're just on your computer, the security option will be grayed out.

Create a new folder. In the folder view, right click on the folder to bring up the shortcut. Select Convert to web. Then go to Tools>Security.

Thanks so much for the reply. Being new to this aspect, I am not quite sure what you mean. If I create a new folder, do I have to drag the current page that I have in my web into the new folder and re-publish? I assume that is the way to do it, but am not sure. Would I then name the folder the same name as the page I now have and then remove the current page? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You do need to put the page or pages you want to protect into the subweb. You can create the folder, but before you turn it into a subweb, drag over the files, then create the subweb (it's more complicated if you've got the subweb first). The subweb is literally a second web site on the existing site. Meaning that if you publish the main site, any changes that might be on the subweb won't be published--you have to publish them separately.

Please excuse my total stupidity, but I did exacly as suggested. I created the new folder and dragged into it all the files that I wanted for the secure page. I then created the sub-web using the convert. All of this went fine except that when I went to Tools and then Security, Security was still greyed out. I have no idea how to get this ungreyed. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
