permissions not working

I have a frontpage user who suddenly lost her ability to get into her web. When she opens FP, it prompts for her user and password. When I log into FP and check her permissions, she is set as author and browse. I have tried reapplying her permissions, but it does not make any difference. Any ideas? Thanks.

Contact your hosting company, . They might need to install your FP extensions.

I have a similar problem.

I can publish my web – no problem. But….when I select “Include subwebs”, a Permission Error pops up. I’ve tried several recommended solutions such as:

- change permissions
- edit web “live”
- access _private folder

Well, the change permissions is grayed out, the edit “live” method did not work and the _private folder can not be accessed.

Of course, I’ve been back n’ forth with the ISP, and they have reinstalled the FP extensions.

This problem has eaten up way too much of my time. I apologize if this question has already been answered, but all the answers I’ve read and tried have not solved the my problem.

Well personnaly i upload everything through an ftp programm ("cute ftp or wps ftp&quot so I don't need these fp extensions.Hope it helps!

THe problem is on the host side. They do not have their permissions set up correctly.

I strongly advise using a hosting company that knows Front Page (although with FP 2003 extensions are no longer required)....

I use Cutting Edge Webs. These guys know FrontPage better than anyone I have ever hosted with. So far I have 7 sites with them and will never use anyone else.
