perl on redhat 9

totally new to linux, perl scripts give me a 500 error but my path is #!/usr/bin/perl and that file does exist on my install, redhat 9 w/ gnome desktop and server install
any help would be appreciated
 
Yeah, I know you knew better Paul.

Zippyflyer, can you show us the exact errors you're getting after changing that first line?

 
premature end of headers from normal run
my last code post from the command line
 
Zippy - the shell is still not seeing that as a Perl script - check the #! line again.

It must be the first line, and start at the beginning of the line, and the path has to be correct...
