I need a good online tutorial, or even better a book on perl5. the book should also come with software to run perl on windows 98.<br>

If you hit the &quot;Next 10 Threads&quot; button 2 or 3 times, Robherc asked the same question a few months ago. Quite a few pointers there to on-line resources.<br>

As far as books go, though, any of the O'Reilly books. The Learning Perl (or Learning Perl on Win32) and Programming Perl books are the ones to start with. As far as a Win98 version of perl goes, go to <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> to get the most up to date version. It's a fairly hefy download via modem - about 5.5Mb - but worth the wait :)
