Hi all,

I am currently designing a Cognos Cube and need to show distinct customer counts from a transaction detail table in my database in this cube. There are currently over 25 million records in this table. If I was to use the Category Count functionality in Transformer, the cube size would be tripple, up to 2 gigs, and become very, very slow. Is it possible to perform distinct count in Transformer without using category count?

If you are using Impromptu IQD as your data source then it is efficient to handle your count from within the Query.

I am able to perform distinct count using Impromptu IQD However, when this distint count is placed in the cube, how do I resolved Quarterly and Yearly roll up the cube that adds the number instead of maintaining the distinctness of the count on these levels.

In the measure property sheet in the model, try changing the Output scale or the Rollup and see what the differences are.[openup] CP

Did you obtain success? How did you do? I'm having the same problem.

Thanks,
Marcelo

In the property sheet of the Count measure, select the Time State Rollup of the Last Period or the Current period to show the count at "a point in time" rather than the numbers rolled up (Summed).
