What do you want to know about Performance Tuning. Are you referring to a)Tuning of SQL statements b) Or you want to learn about Performance tuning and hence a reference book sought of.

Performance tuning is a Subject in itself and many books have been written to tackle these.
I guess you are looking at tuning SQL queries. The first step wud be to look at "Explain Plan".
This shows you the path the query has taken to execute.
