Performance Test

NT4.0 SP6

Is there any test in NT or SQL that will tell me how my SQL performance is. I know PERFMON has some sql items in it but which ones will really tell me how the server is performing.

Check thread183-152204. I provided links to several web sites that explain how to use PerfMonitor, Profiler and other tools to monitor SQL Performance.

Note that not all of the important counters are SQL Server counters. For example, monitoring processor usage is critical. That is a system counter. You'll also want to monitor disk IO related counters. Use other montirs depnding on your needs or the problems that occur. Terry L. Broadbent
