Hi,

Having problem add counter because in the perfmon, cannot found "process" in perfomance object field. But this is available in another server.

OS=windows 2000 with sp2
What i tried but still failed =repatched sp2

Anybody can help?

First of all I'd definitely recommend you to install a SP3.
P.S. don't forget to install it from the local HDD but NOT directly from the SP3 CD. It's very important.

hi victor,
thanks for advise. but i cannot simply upgrade one of the server to sp3 here.
the problem is other machines running with sp2 is working fine, and able to display the performance objects.

any other suggestion?

What kind of counter are you trying to add? A disk counter?
As I remember before to add some disk counters there one command must be launched before. Sorry, I dont remember the command. You can find it in help under disk monitoring.

Hope it will be useful

Need to monitor one of the application's process.

Pls help.

Hi All,

Solution found and problem solved. Share as below :)

Solutions:
Reenabling an Extension by Using ExCtrlLst
1.Start Exctrlst.exe. This is a tool from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit (also available for download
through
2.Select the first item in the Extensible Performance Counters list box.

3.Inspect the Performance Counters Enabled checkbox that appears just below the list box. If the
checkbox is selected, the counter is enabled. If it is cleared, then select the checkbox to reenable it.

4.Select the next item in the Extensible Performance Counters list box and repeat the previous two steps
until all items have the Performance Counters Enabled checkbox selected.
