Hi all.

We have a group of users who "claim" that the performance of their applications is not what it should be. Here is the situation:

These users are geologists and use applications such as Landmark - very graphical etc.

Their machines are connected to the network through i2002 ph 2 phones.

What is strange is that the server they are connecting to is on the same switch stack (ES 460's with a 1GBPS uplink to an 8600) as their PCs. What's worse is that users from "outside" have no complaints.

Can the internal switch in the i2002 ph 2 phones be somehow affecting the performance of their applications?

Thanks.

I've never seen any performance issues using the switch port on the back of the i2002/i2004 phones. I'm assuming that you've checked that all devices are set to auto-negoitiate and they have negotiated to 100Mbps full duplex.

There are known buffering issues connecting the 1100 series of phones to a 100Mbps switch (ES460/ES470) and then connecting a 1000Mbps device such as a laptop or desktop.

Cheers!
