Hello,

I am trying to setup the permon alerts to monitor Processor usage on various servers in the organization. When the Proc usage goes above 75% I want the alert to run a simple command that sends an e-mail to specific users in our organization.

I have the command line arguments right and if I run the command manually it runs the command fine.

When I setup the alert I set it to log an alert in the Event logs and run the command. The event log shows the alerts but the alert is not running the command and I can find nothing to indicate why.

Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? THanks.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Did you ever figure out what it was?

thanks

Paul

If I remember correctly we didn't get it figured out. I also remember finding out that it was some type of bug that older OS's (win2k) didn't have.

I have since changed jobs so I can't look it up and tell you for sure.

Sorry.

Cheers figured it out in the end. I was trying to send an email to a pickup directory on another server using a copy to \\servername\c$\inetpub\mailroot\pickup. Perfmon doesn't have access rights to access C$ on another server by default unless you specify an admin account to run the service. Either specify an admin account rather than the system account or create a share for the pickup directory. Well that's what worked for me anyway!
