Event viewer fills the application log with the following error:

The Open Procedure for service "<name of service" in DLL "<filename>.dll" generated an exception. Performance data for this service will not be available. Exception code returned is DWORD 0.

This occurs on a number of servers including NT 4.0, NT TSE and NT 3.51.

The message is always the same except for the name of the service and the name of the dll file.

If anyone knows what to do please let me know.

Thanks
Hi,

These errors relates to NT services that are started manually. NT seeks info for these processes for Performance Monitor. For example in SQL Server this performance counter dll is named sqlctr60.dll and I get time to time error messages when my test server is set up as manual service. Here's similar case with NetWare net service:

For me these are just annoying errors that NT produces.
