Ok, I've got myself stuck in a loop... heres what I want to do..

Column of #'s, Total the column, then take each number and tell me what percent of the whole that is...

I'm getting it stuck in an invalid argument...does some have plain english directions of how to do this seemingly simple task!?!?

Yes, so I'm a little frustrated w/ myself! THanks very much
oh and I have office xp.

Thanks,
M

If, say, A1:A10 are your numbers, then sum them so that A11 is your total. Format column B as percent. Begin in B1. B1 =A1/$A$11 Click and drag this formula to fill through B11. This should provide your results with a total of 100%.

Thanks so much! that was SO much better than what I had going!
