I am currently supplying support for a mixed operating systems peer to peer environment. I have windows 95,98,2000,NT and XP workstations. I cannot "see" the windows 2000 workstations from the 95 and 98 workstations. I know it is probably a simple solution..but I am really new to 2000..and can't see it....any suggestions on what I can check?

What networking protocol are you using? If you're running TCP/IP only, have you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP? That's on the WINS tab of the TCP/IP properties window.

Windows 2000, unlike previous versions, does not automatically use NetBEUI or NetBIOS over TCP/IP. That's what allows Windows systems to browse one another.

You will also have to grant permission for that computer access the 2000 pc's from the network.
