Does anyone know what the underlying database is (btrieve)? And is there a way to read/write this data, maybe through ODBC?

Ship,

Did you every find an answer to your questions re: the underlying DB for Peachtree 13?

TL

Yes, It is cTree. I had to get an "authorized" consultant to make me a utility that pulled the order info out and put shipping info back in. I then wrapped that program in a webservice. The cTree utilities are not free, you have to buy a developers kit and you still won't know the file structures. I don't know why Peachtree wants to keep things like this a secret. That is how the SQL based open systems is going to put them out of business.

Thanks for your response. A client of mine didn't know the structure so I wanted to ask. We actually sell a tool for connecting natively to c-tree and over 150 other data source and targets for ETL. If you are still looking for a universal to to do this type of conversion we can help.

Do you know if it is ctree 4.3?

And I agree Peachtree is going the way of the Dodo through their practices of shutting down the ease of connection to their backeend
