We are having trouble printing checks on a network. The printer is an HP 4M. Error messages of GDI.EXE and others appear. Freeze and reboot is common event when trying to print checks. Any help/ideas?

I am having the same problem. I am using an HP4100N printer and am getting the GDI error. If anyone has found a solution please post it.

I believe i have the issue resolved. In the details tab under the properties menu for my HP4100N i changed the driver from PCL to PS. Now checks print fine. The PS driver may not use the GDI module for printing. I am not for sure, this was more a lucky guess then a thought out solution.
