We use DDE to create invoices in Peachtree 8.

Peachtree 2005 allows the creation of the the
DDE transactions, but will fail when saving.

eg: "file=salesjournal,field=nextdistribution, save"

Our Peachtree 8 setup has no users specifically defined to use DDE (actually there are NO users defined in our Peachtree 8) and yet DDE works.

Peachtree 2005 has no users defined and DDE does not work.
Is a "defined" user required for DDE serice under
Peachtree 2005?

Is anyone using Peachtree 2005 DDE under the following circumstances.
1. Windows 2000 server hosting the Peachtree data.
2. Windows XP clients.

Note: We have no problem under Peachtree 8 using DDE
on Windows 2000 server, from XP clients.

Anyone..

I've used Windows XP to pull data out of Peachtree, 7, 8, and 9 using FoxPro but haven't tried any saves sucessfully. Would be interested in seeing the code you use. I know there are a lot of changes in the table structure over the last few editions.

We seem to have this working again.

meaning..we are creating invoices in the Peachtree 2005
sales journal programmatically (using vb 6).

I'll post a vb example over the weekend, and try to
add meaningful comments.
