I've never hear of any Paradox 7 patch for XP. Everyone I know running Paradox 7 on XP just had to right click on the Paradox icon and set the compatibility mode to Windows NT (although I think Windows 98 works also).
In Windows 2000 (which I do have experience with) you have to run the Windows Compatibility software that comes with Windows 2000. Again, set compatibility to Windows NT.
and contains all items fixed in the previous patches.
If you're still using Paradox 7.32, I highly recommend you install the patch, though do take note of the file date issue discussed on the web page linked above.
There was a patch for Paradox 7 for Windows 3.x and WFWG; however, that addressed only a sinlge issue that few people ran into. It's available from Corel's FTP site.
Finally, I believe that Ottenbrok is referring to files required by the patch software itself, not Paradox--though I've not yet been able to confirm his report.
I haved developed a flat file database in Paradox 7. Purchased a new computer with Windows XP as the OS. Now Paradox 7 will not operate.
Investested in Corel Office Suite 2002 with Paradox 10. It will not allow me to print reports designed in 7. Have you got any solutions to this dilemna??
First off, have you applied the service packs for v10 and resaved your Paradox 7 reports in the patched version?
If so, can you give us an idea of what happens when you try to print the resaved reports? Is there an error message? Does the report simply appear blank? There might be a number of different things going on and the extra information would probably help troubleshoot that.
I find no V10 updates for Paradox. Have v10 update for Quattro pro, but have not downloaded it.
Message I receive when attempting to print from v10 says that the orientation and paper size are incorrect. Have checked the parameters and all seems correct.
Am receiving several other error messages with v10. And to speak candidly, I like v7 just a whole lot better!. If I could get it to work on xp I would be right back in the ball game!!
As far as the error message goes, I have seen it in a few cases, generally when the orientation of the report does not match the default orientation of the printer driver, e.g. you're trying to print a landscape report and your printer driver defaults to portrait.
When I've gotten this in my reports, I've usually opened the report in Design mode and then:
1. Verified the orientation of the report (and the margins) using the File | Page Setup command. I have seen cases where opening reports in new versions appeared to "switch" landscape reports to portrait.
2. Verified that the report has a valid stylesheet assigned (important even if you do not use stylesheets, for PAradox assigns them automatically).
3. Resaved the report.
Typically, this resolves the issue, although I have had to tweak the design settings in some reports, as Corel sometimes tinkers with the way things are rendered and that has been known to change the way some designs are rendered during printing. (I should note that I've only had to tweak rarely.)
I've also heard that there was a problem with this in Paradox 9 that was resolved in SP4, however, you can only obtain the SP4 by ordering replacement CD's from Corel.
I have also heard a rumor that a Paradox 10 service pack may have resolved similar issues, though I've not worked with 10 extensively enough to verify that.
In short, I'd start by applying the current service packs, resave my reports, and then try printing them.
Hope this helps...

P.S. FWIW, There are certain things from v7 that I miss, too. *sigh*
Downloaded V10 SP3 from Corel along with Hotpatch 4 and Hotfix _ATL. I was able to print one report before it locked up on me. Will reboot again and see if this will realign the system. Stay in touch. Fred
