PDox45 Help required

We are having a debate at the moment regarding the best option to set use nUpdate.exe.

We have moved from a novell server to a Windows 2003 server and the network type was changed from 1 to 8 (Other). The username was nolonger found and we have had issues with file locking leading to file corruption.

As an emergency step we have changed the network option to option 6 - MS Lan setting, now the seeding of the username works and it would appear file locking is laso functioning.

Searching the web I found the Diamond Software groups instructions and they recommended the setting of 8. Can some one tell me why it should be 8 and not 6 so that I can put this arguement to rest.

Well, you found the authority on PdoxDOS - Steven Green (who IS Diamond Software Group).

Why not e-mail him and ask? There aren't many experts for PdoxDOS still alive; he's your best bet.
