I have been using the command line interface to access the Pix so far. Yesterday for the first time i tried to use the PDM. I typed and it opened up the browser and i gave the password and was able to get into the PDM console in the browser. I could view the Monitor icon and could work with it , but was not allowing me to activate any icons including the system properties one. After that i closed the PDM.
When i try to use the PDM again it opens a browser and says the page is not found. But at the same time i could open the console using Hyperterminal.
Appreciate, if anybody can give me an insight into that.

Thanks
Idsi

idsi,
Does your version of PDM match your version of the Pix software? You can check their site for that information.

when i do a show version using the Hyperterminal , it shows my Firewall version as 6.1(2) AND my PDM Version as 1.1(2)

I believe that is your problem. I think you need PDM version 3.0, at least, to correctly connect to pix ver. 6.0 and above. You can go to the Cisco site and download the newer version of the PDM.

I just had the same problem with you and got it fixed last week.

To fixed this, you need to regenerate the RSA key.

Kmills -If i download the version and install it will it alter my current configurations

Michael - Where you able to fix without upgrading the PDM version AND also how do you generate the RSA Key ( is it using the command # ca generate rsa key 1024

idsi,
When I upgraded my PDM, I backed up my configurations, of course. But, it did not change my settings.

what u need to do is make sure that pdm is present do a sh flashfs and that should show the files present. There should be
like below

flash file system: version:3 magic:0x12345679
file 0: origin: 0 length:1941560
file 1: origin: 1966080 length:2688

file 3: origin: 2097152 length:3126944
file 4: origin: 0 length:0
