Is it possible to open a .pdf in a frame? I want the user to still have all of the navigational abilties.

Thanks in advance,

Smitty

Yes you can open a PDF in a frame. I've doing that in a project I'm working on, however I found that Acrobat and IE just dont get along all that well.

Sometimes the PDF won't open on the frame but will open on an independent window.
I had people complaining about this situation and ended up with a fair work around. Just before I send the pdf to the frame I call a page that gives me some values from the database, I also generate a link that opens the same PDF in a _blank window.
If the user can not open the PDF in the frame, at least they will see a message inside the frame that will let them know something is going on and that allow them to open the pdf in a different window, from there they can resize the windows (IE and Acrobat) and still have the same functionality.

Hi,
It's also possible to open a PDF in a I-frame, but note that opening PDF files in your browser window only works with recent Acrobat Readers (4.0 and 5.0) and browsers. I'm not sure if it works with Netscape and Mozilla.
