I receive via E-mail PDF documents that need to be updated from time to time. How can I download the document so that I can make changes as needed.

You'll need the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not the free reader) or one of a litany of third-party apps designed for the purpose.

I forget the details, but once I created a fax from the PDF doc and created a Word doc thru OCR.
 
email the PDF to pdf2txt@adobe.com

It will email you a text file back!!
