hello

i know that pdc and bdc doesnt matter in AD but my question is can you have a windows 2003 server as your pdc and a windows 2000 server as your bdc, right knoiw both servers are hosting AD and replicating to each also both of them are set up as push pull for wins/dns. is it ok to have win 2000 server replicating with win 2003 server in Ad

thanks in advance

There is no PDC or BDC in AD.

Yes, you can have 2000 and 2003 domain controllers in the same domain.

domain functional level needs to be 2000 native.

and use your AD mmc consoles to connect and modify the directory on your 2003 server, it's a user choice to update AD via a certain DC and the other will be updated by replication.
You can't make one read-only, no.
