Using SBS2000 SP3

Once or maybe twice a day the list of PC's and printers
on the network disappears. Shared folders (Company and
User) can still be accessed and Exchange is still live,
but you can't browse the network machines until
rebooting, when they all appear again.

Anyone else had this, or got any ideas?

How's the network? WIndows 2k? Have you NT , w9x machines too? Gia Betiu

One server running SBS2000 with SP3.
23 pc's running a mixture of XP Pro, Win 2000 Pro, Win98 and Win95. (No NT). There is also a Unix box sitting on a fixed IP address which can be seen and accessed through the list of networked PC's.

I wasn't there when it happened today, but I gather the list of computers in Active Directory disappeared as well until the server was re-booted.

Service pk 3 was everything fine before you had it !

Thanks for your reply

The installation is less than 2 weeks old - I put SP3 on straight away. Is it worth removing it?

Thanks for your input - I also had a suggestion to check out KB 292822 from Susan Bradley on the MS SBS2000 newsgroup. This seems to have done the trick for now.

Thank God for support forums!
