Can someone tell me what the restrictions are for using PCMCIA cards for the Nortel Option 11 Switch?

Do I have to use Just Compact Flash or Can I use Sony Memory stick with a PCMCIA converter.

Thanks

That might work, but you can buy Compact Flash cards on Ebay for about $5. I bought 10 64Mb and they work fine.

How big of a card should I have and how many?

a complete nortel opt 11 with 7000 stations will backup on a single floppy, so size may not be the consideration. i very seldom opt 11, so someone here may know the recogmended size

if i remember right that is what nortel ships, seems like a waste of space, but now that their 80 cents per meg it doesn't matter. not to long ago a 4 meg was a couple of hundred...

I use a "PCMCIA to CF adapter" with a 32Mb CF card formatted with a win98 system. I do upgrades and backups with that card. I've also tried a 512 Mb CF card with no problems. You can get this anywhere at a cost of app 20$.
