I have been using an old copy of FormFlow Designer to design and output PCL macros. I then massage the output, and create downloadable macros for HP PCL compatible printers. I download the marcos, activate the macros using some PCL escapes and then send the print job, all wrapped up in one print stream. WORKS GREAT!
Problem is that I can only get output in greyscale when printing to a file, while point to a driver such as HP4MP and others.
When I use a driver, such as the HP4600PCL6, I can output a color PCL file, but due to the PCL6 (XL) driver output, putting a meaningfull macro id around it have been impossible to date.
Anyone know of a way (current software package) to design a form, output color images to PCL macro and end up wioth a downloadable macro?
I understand I should be able to do this using MS-Word printing to a file, but again the output code is almost impossible to decipher and get a macro around.
