PCI TV TUNER CARD Problem

Hi all,
2 months ago I installed in my Pc a Pinnacle TV tuner card, but once I started the tuning the system stopped; what's more I was compelled to reinstall Windows XP since my system did not run anymore; the retailer gave me a new tv Tuner in replacement but it was the same story ..... system stopped but thanks God this time no system files were affected.
I sent an email to the Techinical dept. of the manufacturer providing all the information about my system and hardware, and the conclusion was the probably its software was not 100% compatible with the XP.
Honestely I have had my new Pc since last Xmas and so far it's been working very very well (but Pci TV tuner card); I have DVD, Network card, I can runs digital camera, printer, scanner and I run any softwares with the highest requirements (Photoshop, game with Active X etc.) and no problem experienced.

Las week a different retailer suggested me to try the new Pinnacle TV tuner card, but you know once bitten twice shy .... so in this regard I would like to know the "OPINION" of anyone is really in with this field and problem; below you can find the system information of my PC and System operation

I don't really know about the pinnnacle tv tuner card but I have owned the ati tv tuner card. That card suffers from similar problem such as the tv program is not truely compatable with windowsXP (you will see fuzz and have to go to your display properties and change the resolution back and forth to get it working). The actual card itself tends to have issues as far as quality goes and such. I just ordered the leadtek 2000XP which is stated as "WindowsXP" complient, and it has a remote . I will let you know how this card works for me once I recieve it!

Hi,

I have had the same problem with a pinnacle card, it appears that the problem is isolated to XP as the card works fine when I use it under Win98 on my dual-boot system.

I have tried installing all of the suggested upgraded drivers/software from the pinnacle site but none of it helps.

Awaiting a response from pinnacle support about the likelihood of a new driver issue for XP. (not holding my breath for a response!)

Seems like we have to go backwards to get hardware to work, I am also having big issues with some USB devices not being recognized under XP but they are ok under Win98 - who said upgrading to to the latest OS was a good idea!
