I am trying to install a pci sound card into a netfifnity 5500 m10. The card is recognised by XP pro but the system hangs when the drivers are loaded. I had the same problem under win2k. I have installed other pci cards into the system they are fine and work well(tv card, video card), but unable to install sound. I have tried different makes of card but all ahve the same problem. What am I doing wrong?

The server was never tested with a sound card (it's a server). Your best bet is to go into CMOS <F1> and manually set an IRQ for the sound card, rather than letting it auto-select.

already tried that, with no success. Thankyou (Any more ideas?)

You could try an extigy, but kind of expensive...wait what am I saying...so is trying to run a server as a pc...

I shall use google before asking stupid questions!
