pci slot info

I want to install a US Robotics Performance Pro on my computer. On ordering, I was told that I would need an available 2.2 pci slot. Since my computer is over 2 years old, she advised(Gateway)that mine was probably 1.1. How do I determine what my pci slots are? I have a question into my motherboard manufacturer, but have not received a reply.
