just curious on how some of you techies are handling the password issue without really getting the customers to involved. I think usernames and passwords on admin accounts need to be changed on boh and terminals every 30 days or so. I know the new ral can change it on the terminals no problem. Sites using windows server running AD we have no problem with. Its the cheap sites using XP as there server.

Not that it is cheap sites using XP as a server, Radiant implemented RFS to get around the NT/2K/XP 10 connection limit for a reason. (so they and select dealers they haven't outed can continue their profit margins and cut M$ out of it, and continue their venue of forced hardware sales of Radiant terminals equiped with bad caps that fail after 1 year if not DOA on initial system setup...) Sad but true, but it isn't only Radiant that suffered the bad cap problem, it all stemmed from an employee in Japan that quit his job, stole the recipe for electrolyte for caps, then moved to Taiwan and produced them, problem was, the recipe was wrong and this created problems for several OEM manufacturers (Asus, Intel, Dell produced by Intel and more), however Radiant seems to be on a very short list of companies that didn't seem to recover from this...

does these bad caps apply to all radiant models?

no, just the 1510 and 1520 terminals.
Really a bad deal for the customers.

$650 for a new motherboard.

They also had bad power supplys, Radiant shipped out new ones for the dealers for free but we charge $45 a piece + 120/hr service.

yea i kinda of figured those models. I always see them loose video alot, have to unplug the power cord for a little bit then pop it back it to get video back, especially with ones that come brand new in a box. never really saw that with any other termnial.
