We need access to a server behind a SonicWall SOHO hardware firewall. We access our clients remotely using PCAnywhere. This client uses a VPN log-through & remote desktop. We service from the road (dynamic IPs) and the VPN requires an IP.

Has anyone any idea regarding accessing this server via PCAnywhere without compromising the security of this company?

Does the firewall have port forwarding capabilities? We always have to set up ports 5361 and 5362 on our firewall routers for PcAnywhere and forward to specific pc(s).

Also, if you check out you will see a solution that is secure in that no information is sent to a third pary management service. The ip information stays on your or their secure servers. Any ftp site you wish.

Hope this helps.

Myles

After setting up port forwarding we use the noip.com site to access customers with dynamic ips. In our ip connections box for the ip we type in customername.no-ip.info and it maps us right to them.
