Hi there

My PC keeps switching itself off during the night, I have turned off all power management but it still shuts down during the night, any ideas?

Regards

Tim

catalystcommercial,

Does Windows log any errors in the Event Log? Does the power stay on or any fans spin, or does all power shut down?

It could be caused by a thermal shutdown of your CPU, or a faulty power supply, but there are a few other factors.

Hi Wishdiak

It is a complete shutdown!!

I checked in event viewer and there are only to warning, 1 is that disk space is nearly full, there is a bout 100 meg left, the second is that the ip address lease expired, denied by the dhcp server

Thanks

Tim

Is this a domestic pc or in an office.

If in an office then check that your power socket isn't schedule regulated.

I used to work in an office where certain power sockets used to switch the power off during the night at a certain times....only found out when we ran some servers off the sockets...doh!!!

PinnacleData Systems (UK)

Also check the BIOS it may have a setting to automatically turn off at a certain time...
