I am not a stupid person but this communications issue with the Partner is really making me feel stupid.
I have a Remote access card that none of my modems can connect to. When I get one to work (for a while) I cannot transfer the translation tables. It usualy just locks up. I was able to download the Maint logs once. But cannot connect again. Many computers, many modems.
So I try the direct cable method, not my primary choice. Step 1,get 2 computers talking on a NULL modem 9pin. 19200 1,n,no flow. Great
Step 2 connect this cable to a 355 I made to everybodies spec. see below
DB9 to RJ45 Pinout _
rj-45
PIN 1 ORANGE 2 CD
PIN 2 GREEN 5 RD
PIN 3 YELLOW 6 TD
PIN 4 BLACK 3 DTR
PIN 5 RED 4 SG
PIN 6 BROWN 7 DSR
PIN 7 WHITE 8 RTS
PIN 8 CTS
PIN 9 BLUE 1
NOTHING
I use a straight cable , no crossover same wire on right side of each end. Direct to the Partner messaging RS232 connector. Nothing.
SO I have 9 pin male on computer
Null modem cable that works to 9 pin
connector as above
straight cable
I have spent much time on this and NEED HELP!
Moving tomorrow...
