I have a PC running Windows 2000 Professional, but when I try to define a static IP address in the TCP/IP network settings, the computer reboots when I click on OK. Upon rebooting, the network settings are gone. I know this should not happen, how can I fix and get the PC to hold it's IP configuration. Thanks for any help !!!

Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer.
What does it give as details on the error?

Thanks for the response Bcastner, but we got the problem solved. We deleted and re-created the LAN connection, and it worked - the network settings held when changed.
