I installed Win XP SP2 on a PC with a Celeron 433MHz processor. When i turn off, i get the screen "Its now safe to turn off your PC", then I have to power off. Is there any fix for making it power off automatically?

That happens if your using an old system that prevents your computer from fully shutting down. There is a small chance that a BIOS upgrade will correct that problem. It's a nuisance yes but that's what happens with old systems. Look on your mobo, and get the Brand name, version, etc...search for it on a site, or from the company to see if a BIOS upgrade will fix it. Or better yet, get a new system for less then 200 bucks off eBay. I used to have a 2,4GHz, 1GB RAM, 80HD, Dell GX260, old but better then a Celeron, best part of it is, I bought it for 80 bucks.....

Just my 2 cents...

Yes it did. Corrected the problem as stated in the Microsoft link. Just had to enable the APM option. Thanks to all of you.

Sweet, glad you got it...
