Thanks

Do you have virus software on the pc. Tend to find virus software takes a second to load and you see the login screen is not the active screen.

If you try and click in the login box does it let you?
If not try uninstalling the virus software, if there is any. Lee Smith

Hi and thanks for your answer,

There are not virus software in the PC because it is on the server. If I click in the login box it hang there not answer. But if I press ctrl+alt+delete and close some application in run it is correct and restart normally.

Do you think that it's application in background the problem? If yes, how find this?

Thanks

Is this an NT server?

If it is then sounds like one of the services is having a problem.

I'm no Microsoft expert but it sounds like a service problem. Check the event log to make sure all the services started. Lee Smith

You did'nt metion what version of the Novell client you are using but if you are using Version 3.2 or up and are NOT using ZenWorks then try removing the Workstation Manager. Right click on Netweork Neighborhood choose properties and scroll down to Novell Workstation Manager, highlight and then choose remove. In a typical installation of the Novell client the Workstation Manager is installed by default.

The PC it's an Win 98, but I have an NT Server in network, and this services is ok because I look frequently with Event viewer. I will check this more precisely. Thanks again for your information.

Hi all! I have a strange beheavor in my netork. I use win95 and winNt 4 as client and NetWare 5.0 sp6a. I have only one Server in the tree.
The problem is:
All client workstations under win95 have after login different time than winNT (for example 14:00 instead 15:00).
The settings on both types of client are "Set Station Time = ON" and Time Zone MET (Middle European Time). NT clients use version 4.8 (english) and win95 3.2 (english).
The time settings on server are (as shown in MONITOR):
Time Zone GMT+0100,
Default Time Server Type = SINGLE,
TimeSYNC Configurated Sources Off,
TimeSYNC Diretory Tree Mode On,
TimeSYNC Hardware Clock On,
TIMESYNC Service Advertising On,
TIMESYNC Restart Flag Off,
TIMESYNC RESET Off,
TIMESYNC Type SINGLE.
My Company is in Germany so we use MET.
Has anyone seen this before? Any help is very welcome!!!

Interesting, your post is new..should of made a new thread...

In answer to the user serykot check your time zones on your workstations and servers.. if either of these are set wrong, the time will show up differently on each device.

I have Novell 5 on my server. My users are experiencing difficulties with Access 97 databases. They lose connection to the server when trying to open them. Their connection is not terminated on the server and they cannot log back in until server is rebooted. I have SP6 on the server.
Can anyone resolve this for me
Thanks.

Gconlon - have you tried setting file caching enabled = off? You can do this by typing the following command on the console and adding it to the STARTUP.NCF also:

SET CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED = OFF

Also, try the enhancements in SP6a for NetWare 5.0. SP6 was superceeded by SP6A because of bug fixes.

You can also change the client file caching property in the Novell Client as well. Also, ensure that you have the latest client installed on your PC's (NT/2000 = Novell Client 4.8 with Novell Client SP3, 9x = 3.2 I think?)
