Hi guys,

Here is what i'm trying to do, PC serial port connecting through 9 pin to 25 pin and simple 355A adapter to the Active Terminal port on the back of SPE-A in my Definity G3

What should the Port setting / Delay settings on DSA or ASA

selected direct connect.

Tried emulation
513 and 4410

tried upping the login delay to 1000ms 2000ms and 5000ms

Tried,
baud: 9600, 7200, 4800, 2400
Data bits: 8 and 7
Parity: None
stop bits: 1
Flow Control: Hardware and None

just haven't gotten the right combo.

The cable works great when I hook it back up to a dumb terminal...

Otherwise it just times out on the PC..

Code:
                        Baudrate: 9600bps
                     Send Parity: No
                    Check Parity: No
                   Terminal Type: 513BCT
             RS232 Modem Control: Off
                  Character Size: 8
                        Stop Bit: 1
                  Character Echo: No
            Flow Control to Host: Yes
          Flow Control from Host: Yes
                      Auto Login: No

Huh... I dont see about 1/2 those options under edit> properties of voice system

I have DSA R1.5.06

and ASA 3.0.8

These are for a SAT terminal
They will be the same for any direct connect emulation
Terminal type can be 4410, 4425, 513

Ok so tried...

513 and 4410 and 4425
baud: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
stop bits: 1
Flow Control: tried "Hardware", "None", and "Xon / Xoff"
Manual login: Yes

When Hardware flow control is on it freezes/crashes DSA and ASA

When Hardware flow control = None or Xon / Xoff = blinking curser no login propt... hit enter and ESC nothing

What is the Lucent MAX 900 WHT terminal doing different?

are you configuring the correct serial port on your PC?

What emulator program are you using? TuTTy? TeraTerm? I've had better results using TuTTy (make sure SSH is off) with same configuration described by AvayaTier3. I also recently installed a CLAN card and on backplane connected ethernet to network. That way I can talk to my PBX from anywhere through VPN.

Do you have a mini break-out box? If you do, put it in line and make sure you have TD and RD lights lit. If you do not, then you need a null modem because you are apparently trying to send and receive on the same line.
