I have a Windows 2k Pro box, and I installed SP3 on it, with all the security updates after installing all the other needed software....Office XP, Lotus Notes, blah, blah...
I went to install TrendMicro PC-Cillin 2000 and it "rolled back" on me....I went to TrendMicro's support site and found no help....(There was help for this situation for the Windows XP O/S but that doesn't apply to me)....
I went to Microsoft's support site, and was informed that SP3 does not "play well" with the installer program for PC-Cillin...So I made the necessary changes to the registry (backed it up first of course) to get rid of all instances of TrendMicro, deleted the TrendMicro program from the Program Files folder, uninstalled SP3 and ALL of the blasted MS security updates, restarted the machine, installed SP 2 instead (with NO security updates) and tried to install PC-Cillin again....To no avail...STILL getting the rollback thing...I emailed TrendMicro about this situation because Microsoft suggested getting in contact with them to see if there's a patch out there that will fix this...I haven't heard back from them since....Does anyone else have any idea about how to fix this and get it installed? This is the first time I've had this problem....TIA...
