Hi, all. I was trying to upgrade my COMPAQ Presario memory card. The whole system can't reboot after I added one new memory card. I then removed it but PC still can't reboot. All lights and fan are on but nothing happens!! It seems PC doesn't load anything. Does it mean my motherboard is damaged??? What should i do now to test/fix it?

Thanks in advance!!!

I'd try removing and reseating the memory and check to see if the PSU plugs are in tight.

franklin97355, I have done it many times. No help.

Is it common that a mal-functioning memory card could damage a motherboard? I only heard of the other way around.

Thanks again for any further help.

Malfunctioning memory wont damaged the board. unless you have switched a jumper to a different voltage. Try to tighten all parts, or reset the cmos clock (battery).
