Hey guys,
does anyone know of any PBX's that support caller ID to standard 2500 sets with C.O. type caller ID. Just your average home phone with caller id? Definity, Meridian, Option, SX-2000, anything out on the market? I'll be running T1 or PRI trunks, but absolutely have to use Caller ID 2500 sets...

Thanks!

SX-2000 does it with the right line cards (ONS CLASS/CLIP).

When you say "line cards" do you mean the lines from the PSTN, or do you mean station cards that generate the FSK or DTMF ID signal?

Thanks!

I mean the station cards that interface the 2500 sets to the PBX. The PSTN connection needs to be a PRI for the SX2K. Also, there's a system feature that needs to be enabled (MOS password change), and you need to re-assign at least one DSP on a PSC to FSK generators from DTMF recievers.

Definity: use the analog card TN793, Station type "CallerID".

Coral Flexicom can do it or the avaya IP-Office (small-system).

Nortel Meridian (not norstar) will with a CLASS modem card (switch shared resource card) and the right software packages.

Mitel's SX200EL, SX200ICP and 3300 will also do CLASS on the right cards.

Wow, that's a great list. My situation is as follows: my client needs a bunch of 2500 sets installed through an enormous mining facility, with caller ID on 2500 sets located anywhere from 10 to 15,000 feet from the PBX. All lines will be on protectors at both ends, and this is a private copper network, with a couple CO owned OPX lines around. I know Definity will OPX on any analog card, but you cant use voltage type message notification. Are any of the others suited for this task? Thanks everyone for your input!

The 15000 feet could be a bit of a problem for the caller ID on the Mitel. Right now Mitel's OPX cards don't support CLASS, so if you were to use regular cards you may have problems with the really long range ones.

How many stations and trunks does the system have to support?

The eon Millinium is a great system and they support ICLID on analog ports now and a remote fiber shelf might solve the distance problems.

another solution might work on the distance is OPX amplifiers. I have wanted to try those on a non OPX circuit but havent had the opprotunity yet. Viking maks a good one.

The ESI IVX also provides iclid on analog extensions and the IVX has a great price tag but you will deffently need the amps on the IVX.

They havent decided on how many will be on the one switch, but it could be anywhere from 500-6000. My client's been verrrrry helpful (not). I've never heard of the eon Millenium. OPX amps are nice, but would cost a fortune. I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't just get them to buy an old Class 5 or softswitch. Hmmm....
