Hi,

I am using both PBx phones with Merlin and IP phone configured through AVVID. For my IP phone, I first add them in the NON_LOCAL UDP file in ranges and assign them as transfer only so ppl using both ip and pbx can reach the user with the IP phone. Recently, we got a new set of DIDs which were configured on AVVID and configured in range for NON_LOCAL UDP and transfer only as well but I cannot reach these users whatsoever with PBX phones.

Working DIDS for both PBX and IP: xxx-6xxx
Working DIDS for IP which i PBX phones to be able to dial: xxx-4xxx

The strange thing is that if I take an extension out of the non-local udp list, it can be used with PBX.

Is there a configuration I have to add in order to be able to dial the extensions????

You're gonna need to provide some more detail here before anyone can help.

It SOUNDS like you've got both a Magix with digital sets and a Cisco AVVID with IP sets. Because UDP is mentioned, I suspect you've got these two switches in tandem via PRI or tie lines.

It's not clear which switch the DIDs arrive on, nor is it crystal clear on what is working and what isn't.

Please post back and fill us in!

Hi Dagwood,

They Avvid and Magix are linked with a T1 link. The first set of DIDs in the 6xxx are on the Merlin and all other DIDs run through the AVVID

OK, so anyone dialing xxx-6xxx lands in the Magix, which then forwards the call to the remote end (which happens to be a Cisco AVVID). This is done via the NON-LOCAL UDP table, which tells the Magix "hey, these extensions are on the other side...grab a B-Channel and go". Cool...I get it.

I'm not sure how you configure a "NON-LOCAL UDP table" and/or "Transfer Only permissions" on the AVVID, but I'll assume that it can be done.

What does the dialplan look like? Again--and without further detail--it SOUNDS like the AVVID houses all the 4xx extensions, while the Magix handles the 6xx. True? If so, is it also true that calls to xxx-4xxx correctly terminate on the AVVID end (or do they terminate on the Magix end, then route across the network to the AVVID side)? It almost sounds like they terminate on the AVVID side, but then is expected to ring extensions on either side of the network.

I'm so sorry, but I'm just not seeing the entire picture here and I'd like to help out. Please, please please add as much detail as you can.
