PB Code table V/S Backend table.

Can anyone please tell me what's the best approach - Using PB Code table or Storing data in backend table. I want to display some values in dropdown.
 
It depends upon the nature of the values. If they are a small set, maybe ten or so at most, and are not likely to increase, go for a code table. If there are many values and/or they are going to be used in a lot of places (or change frequently) in the application, store the data in the database.
