Hi All,
I need to create a field that I could use to group production activity by pay period. The field would give the end of the pay period date. Right now I just have the date the activity occurecd on.

Thanks in advance for your help!

"What version of URGENT!!! are you using?

is the pay period two weeks or month, give us more details.
you can create a group based on the date field, you have several options for grouping like by day, week, twoweeks and even you can group based on a formula.

The interval is every every 2 weeks. The starting day is Sunday and ends on Saturday.

try this if i got you right:

Insert->Group
pick the date field and where is it says
the section will be printed ->pick for each two weeks
this will take the sunday to second saturday

Thanks raja2008. The only problem with this group is that the date is at the beginning of the pay period, and I need the ending date.

Any other ideas?

Sepie

you mean you want the ending date to be displayed as group header
please explain

Yes. Or, add a secondary field for each record that calculates the pay period end date.

ok i just tried it myself
create a formula :
periodenddate:
dateadd("d",+14,
CDate (GroupName ({groupfield}, "biweekly")))

what i did here is took the groupname and changed it to date by Cdate and then added 13 days to get the ending date by using the dateadd function

(GroupName ({groupfield}, "biweekly")--this is your groupname you will find under the report fields in your formula editor

hope this helps

Voila!!
Worked like a charm.
Thanks for not leaving.
