Hi All,

My bosses are complaining about pauses between announcements and transfers. The follow is what one vector looks like.

01 wait 2 secs hearing ringback
02 announcement 2749 (Thank you for calling...)
03 collect 4 digits after announcement 2752 (Selection)
04 route-to digits with coverage y
05 route-to number 2801 if digits = 1
06 route-to number 2802 if digits = 2
and so on.

Between the announcements in step 2 and 3 there seems to be very little pause. Once step 3 starts and I press 1 or 2, there is a long pause waiting for 3 more digits until it finally transfers. I need the 4 digits so callers can go to extensions. Does anyone have a better way of doing this?

Thank you,
Volaris

When you only push one digit the system is waiting for the other 3. Make it two different request. "If you know your partys extension press 1 for more help press 2". It might take a little longer but you'll lose the pause. Look!!! New Buttons
Same amount of time!

Thanks All Phoneman2

For the pause between steps 2 and 3 you may want to rerecord the announcement 2749 and see if that helps. Be sure to hang up the phone as soon the announcement is recorded.

For the collect digits step you can do a couple of things.

1. You can make the pause shorter by changing the prompt timeout field on page 8 of the system parameters features form.
2. Rerecord announcment 2752 to say...press 1 folowed be the # sign.

I would do it this way. You will have to change some of your prompts.

01 wait 2 secs hearing ringback
02 announcement 2749 (Thank you for calling...)
03 collect 1 digits after announcement 2752 (**)
04 05 route-to number 2801 if digits = 1
05 route-to number 2802 if digits = 2
06 goto step 09 if digits = 0
07
08
09 collect 4 digit after announcement XXXX
10 route-to digits with coverage y
11 disconnect
12 stop

** Press 0 to dial by extension, press 1 for Sales dept, press 2 for Support dept.

That should do it! Good luck, Ray

If you ask the customers to enter the digit/extension number followed by a # sign,in your announcement, the switch will resume processing straight away, without waiting for additional digits.
The # functions as your 'enter' key
In its current configuration it is waiting for 3 additional digits to be collected until it times out.

I have a user who is receiving hang-up calls from outside our facility. We have PRI but the calling ID is blocked so we can not identify the call.

Does anyone have any suggestions for intercepting or blocking 'blocked' calls? MCT does nothing for us and of course CDR doesn't have the info as well.

This is happening in a G3R V8.01

Any suggestions would be great.

Hi
I have been facing this problem from long and now i have discovered a solution but this solution is useful if u have
less than 100 extensions

01 wait time 2 sec her ringback
02 coll 1 digit after ABCD(your original announcement)
03 go to step 10 if digit = 1 (lets assume your extensions start with 10
04 route to no xyza if digit =2
05 route to no aabb if digit = 3

10 go to vec 10

in the vector 10

collect 3 digits after ann none
go to step 10 if digit =000
go to step 11 if digit = 001

10 route to no 1001
11 route to no 1002

althaugh this reduces the gap but the problem is u need to 1
vector for every 16 extensions.also as the vector chain increases the processing time by drfinity increases
