this may seem like a very insignificant question but its really bugging me
ive just started using flash and when i try to past individual images(sprites) from paint into flash it always leaves a white border around it can anyone tell me how to get rid of it and have a transparent background?

You can always vectorize the image by going to the Modify menu and tracing the image. That way the shape is reduced to a more malleable format and you can delete the white background as it separates the image into color channels.
