I have been unsuccessfull in recording a macro to perform paste special "values" in Excel. My goal is to create a button on my tool bar to perform this common task.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

was able to record said action but when running macro i got an error

what you could do instead is add the 'Paste Values' command button to your toolbar via Tools-->Customize
under the 'Commands' tab, choose the 'Edit' category.
the 'Paste Values' command has a clipboard icon with the numbers 1 and 2 on it

I am using Excel 97

Wow, Thank you.

I did not know that their was already a button for that function.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

Maybe I am missing something but I have a macro with the following bit of code in and it works fine??

Code:
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
        False, Transpose:=False

Regards,

Alan
